Description
Overview: If it’s a dependable, lightweight hiking or travelling daypack that you’re after then the Lowe Alpine Edge 18 is well worth a look. Plenty of well-placed pockets supplement the main cargo hold, and the large meshed side pockets will carry water bottles easy enough; the Edge 18 also has a suitable hydration system compartment if you need to supplement your water capacity on the hill.
What we think: Straight forward and well put together daypack. We like the small compression straps for if you’re travelling really light, and there’s room to carry the walking poles too; and weighing in at a measly 740g you won’t have to worry about excess baggage too much.
Verdict: Small, tough and lightweight - the Barry McGuigan of daypacks.
