The Rab Neutrino 400 is a lightweight, versatile sleeping bag great for backpacking, cycle touring and fast and light mountaineering. Made from breathable Pertex Quantum fabric and filled with high quality 800 US fill power, 90/10 Goose Down.
Trapezoid Box Wall Baffles
All aspects of Rab baffles are designed to allow the down to loft to the optimum amount for it's fill weight, fill power and the down to feature ratio. The baffle height has to be higher for more or higher quality down. Each baffle in all Rab's sleeping bags has a down weight assigned to it based on the size of the baffle and down quality, if too much down is put into a baffle, it will not loft to the optimum amount for trapping air and keeping you warm. The baffle offset which gives the baffles it's trapezoid shape has to be at the correct angle, too steep and the down will slip down the baffle surface, and if it's too shallow the extra material will add unnecessary weight and compress the down.
Nikwax Hydrophobic Down
Down continues to offer unparalleled warmth for weight and compressibility, but when down gets soaked its expansive air-trapping structure temporarily collapses. Nikwax Hydrophobic Down is specially formulated with Rab to enhance the water resistance of the down and provide the following benefits,
- Down absorbs less water
- Dries faster when damp
- Retains loft
- Fluorocarbon free treatment
Down Code Of Conduct
All Rab down is traceable under the European Down and Feather Association Codex, and all members are expected to follow their code on conduct as follows,
- The birds should be raised to high welfare standards (farms are externally monitored)
- Down is a by-product of a slaughterhouse or harvested during moulting periods
- No use of illegally live plucked down
- Have the origin of down and feathers entered into documentation system

EN 13537:2012 Temperature Ratings
Indicates the temperature at which a standard woman can expect to sleep comfortably in a relaxed position
The temperature at which a standard man can sleep for eight hours in a curled position without waking.
The minimum temperature at which a standard woman can remain for six hours without risk of death from hypothermia (though frostbite is still possible).
We suggest you use these temperature ratings as a guide only as the perception of cold will be influenced by many factors, some people feel the cold more than others, the warmth of the sleeping mat in use, whether you sleep with extra layers on, acclimatisation to the surroundings, whether you are eating well and your general physical and psychological state etc.
